We use the RWI programme throughout the whole school: from Pre-School to Year 6. The RWI Spelling Programme was devised to offer a comprehensive yet accessible progression in the teaching of spelling.

Learning to read is the most important thing your child will learn at our school. Everything else depends on it, so we are putting as much energy as we possibly can into making sure that every single child learns to read as quickly as possible.

At Lickhill we believe that the teaching of mathematics should equip children with unique, powerful tools to help them understand and make sense of the world around them.  These tools include logical reasoning, problem solving skills and the ability to think in abstract ways.

Behaviour Principles

At Lickhill Primary School we expect the highest standards of behaviour and we make a point of acknowledging, praising and rewarding behaviour that is good.  In order for our children to learn effectively we accept that time must be invested in establishing and reinforcing our expectations of good behaviour.

World Book Day! A celebration!

Water, water!

This week the school were lucky enough to have a visit from Mr Paul Tingle from Severn Trent. He gave a very amusing assembly on the importance of saving water, which the children really enjoyed.
