Current learning

Children are reaping the benefits of our ‘In The Woods’ umbrella theme linked to Traditional Tales. They have been climbing trees, building log-pile houses in Forest School and experimenting with colours in order to mix tints and shades of green.

We are currently exploring Traditional Tales starting with Jack and the Beanstalk. The children have already been talking about activities they would like to do including making porridge in the Forest when we move onto Goldilocks and laying trails with breadcrumbs, pebbles and other materials whilst learning about Hansel and Grettal.

Our themes are seamlessly balanced with the interests and passions of the children. Each week we have focus children. Focus children and their parents tell us all about their interests and what is happening in their home-life. We share experiences about birthdays, sports interests and favourite toys. They also give us ideas of activities they would like to do with their friends in class. The indoor and outdoor learning environment buzzes with creativity and excitement.
