Highwayman day

What a day we have had in Y5 and Y6! We've had a dramatic introduction to the historical background of Alfred Noyes' narrative poem, The Highwayman. Thanks to parental contributions,  we were able to have a professional company, Time Capsule Education, to come and engage the children.  We have learnt about the poem and the history of the time and we have done some drawings of a scale model of the poem's setting. The highlight of the day was definitely firing the pistols and muskets in the school grounds! Thanks to Tim and Jon for their hard work and to the children for being beautiful.
