Last week Year 4 investigated the path that water will take over land. They were challenged to direct the flow of the water from one point to another further down the bank. Reception love stories and books! We invited the Librarian to school to come and share a story with us! She read Winnie the Witch! Then for our home learning we were asked to join the library if we were not already members and borrowed some books to bring home!

We also invited our families to our class to read stories with us! It was lovely for our home families to visit our school family!

  • Year 5 DT - COOKING

Fri 21 Oct 2022 Miss Armstrong

It was very exciting in Year 5 yesterday!!

Having researched recipes which contained local, seasonal produce, the children had the opportunity to cook two recipes which they had voted for.  They chose: Vegetarian Noodles and Pumpkin Muffins. They learned how to cut food safely with a knife using the 'claw' and 'bridge' method. The food tasting was also hugely successful and we definitely have some future chefs in the making.  Excellent work Year 5!!

  • Year 5 - Earth and Space

Fri 21 Oct 2022 Miss Armstrong

During our science topic, the children have been investigating the movement of the Earth and have used shadows to prove that the Earth turns relative to the Sun.  The children made some interesting predictions before the investigation began.  We had a fabulous day, popping out to the playground regularly to see and record how the shadows had moved.
