Qualifications: level 5 in Facilities Management and NEBOSH General Certificate

Work history: I have worked predominantly in higher education in a facilities and health and safety environment for the last 20 years ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of numerous buildings. I also had with a brief spell working in care. 

Before that I worked in France and Italy for a number of years for a major holiday company.

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: 

The one thing that always struck me about Lickhill was the family feel to it, making me very confident my children are in a great learning environment. I have considered being a governor for a number of years as I would like to give back to the school using the transferable skills and knowledge I built up over the past number of years. 

 

Emily Lashford

Deputy Chair - Appointed by trust

 

Qualifications: Mortgage and Protection Adviser - Cert CII (MP)

Work history: I am currently a Mortgage and Protection adviser within the local area and work with my husband and a fantastic support team. We set up our business in 2023 and support clients with their financial options including mortgages, pensions and investments. My role is to research the market and advise on the best options for the client and work with Solicitors, Lenders and Providers in order for the client to achieve their objectives. I have been working in the Financial Advice industry since 2014 and love having a business that helps people in the local community.

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: My family and I started our journey with Lickhill Primary School in 2021 and have always found the school to be a great place to be. I am passionate about my children's learning and feel that it is important to be involved and support, where I can. I help people on a daily basis with decisions and hope that I can bring knowledge of this to support the school in their already high achieving. 

 

Charlotte Crowther

Qualifications: Qualified as a hair stylist over 10 years ago.

Work history: My current role is working for myself as a mobile hair stylist to enable me to spend more time with my children while young. Previously, I worked as a Salon Manger in a busy salon. 

Passion/ interests: I enjoy reading, keeping fit and spending time with family and friends.

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: Lickhill is a warm and inviting school, which is why I chose it for my children. I believe that early education is the best foundation for a child to grow into a happy and healthy adult. I want to support the school to reach its full potential.

 

Fiona Perks

Qualifications: AAT qualified Accounting Technician. CIMA Qualified accountant

Work history: Current role: Director of my Bookkeeping company, providing Bookkeeping services to small to medium businesses within the surrounding area .Previous job: Branch financial Accountant for a multi national engineering company, responsible for the accounting function (8 Years). Previous job : Financial Accountant within a Head Office of a skin care business with over 30 clinics nationwide.  Responsible for 2 members of staff. I have worked within finance departments in industry for over 15 years which has given me great exposure to many areas of finance at all levels.

Passion/interests: I started my business in March 2019 so am very passionate about making a success of this whilst also achieving a good work, life balance for my family. I have a young family and we love to spend time together outdoors walking our Dog and spending time as a family.

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: I believe my experience gives me a good financial and ethical background and as my son has joined Reception class and my second child will join the school in 2022 I am keen to help ensure that the school continues to be held to the high standards that it already achieves.

 

Laura Minor - Staff Governor

Qualifications: I have a degree in Early Childhood Studies.

Work: I currently work as part of the Administration team at Lickhill Primary School, supporting the Senior Leadership Team. I am also self-employed in an administrative role supporting various local small businesses. Volunteering on local community projects is something I thoroughly enjoy doing too!

Passion/Interests: One of my main interests is supporting the local community with local events such as Stourport Carnival and the Three Kings Parade.

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: I wanted to become a staff governor of Lickhill Primary School to represent all Lickhill Staff on the governing body and to bring a fresh perspective to the board. I feel very strongly about community spirit and feel that this is another way that I can help Lickhill Primary School become involved in the wider community.

 

Alistair Wilding

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Environmental Science

Work History: As Technical Manager for a Chemical / Manufacturing Company based in the West Midlands and the Netherlands, I am responsible for the Quality, R&D and Regulatory Compliance aspects of the business. For over 15 years, I’ve held Senior Leadership Positions involving working on the long term objectives and direction of the business, whilst also managing the day to day requirements of the team.

Why you wanted to be a Governor: My three children have thoroughly enjoyed their time at Lickhill Primary School, giving them a solid foundation of education and nurturing their personalities ready for high school. Being given the chance to be a Governor and work with a great team is not an opportunity to ignore.

 

Elizabeth (Cassie) Reader

Appointed by trust

Qualifications: BA(hons) Music Performance Studies, MA Music Editing, PGCE Secondary Music. 

Work history: I have over 20 years experience teaching music in secondary schools and am currently head of music at a large secondary school in Worcester. 

Why you wanted to be/are a Governor: 

I have two children at Lickhill. They absolutely love the school, and I am keen to contribute to the school community however I can. I enjoy my role on the PTA committee and felt that governor would be a natural progression. I am passionate about all stages of education and its place in shaping our young people into becoming the very best versions of themselves. I have a keen interest in curriculum development and believe that all schools should offer a broad and balanced curriculum to suit the needs and interests of all its students. I also have a wealth of pastoral experience and thorough understanding of safeguarding within education - all of which I felt I could bring to a governance role at Lickhill.

I have been Principal/Headteacher at Lickhill Primary since 2019. Prior to this I was the Deputy Headteacher and Art AST.
