Year 4 Severn Valley Railway Trip
Year 4 had a fantastic time at the Severn Valley Railway this week. As soon as we arrived, we knew we were in for a real treat! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the children were impeccably behaved. So well behaved in fact, that members of the public commented on their behaviour as we went about our day. We are so proud of them. While there we learned about the lives of navvies, the workers on the railway building projects. We also had a go an activity where the children build their own arches using wooden bricks. The Engine shed had a carriage that was used by the queen and a train that inspired the writer of the Thomas the Tank Engine series to develop his character train-Gordon! We were fortunate to have lovely weather so a photo opportunity on the bridge at Highley station was taken up!
