  • Editing Stations

Sat 21 Nov 2020 Mrs McLeod
I was hugely impressed with the focused way Year 6 approached editing their recent Hansel and Gretel stories.  Each table has a different focus - punctuation, spelling, adding detail, etc etc.  They take their book to each station in turn.  Good work, Year 6! 😁👌
  • Roman Leaf Mosaics Year 4

    Sat 14 Nov 2020
This week in Forest School the children made a leaf mosaic, within a frame of sticks. The colours had to be chosen carefully inorder for the design to be clearly defined. Team work, cooperation, collaboration and respect for eachother were clearly working well, as the end results are superb. Well done everyone.
  • Updated! Year 4 Roman Villa Creative homework

    Fri 13 Nov 2020

Year 4 Roman Villa Creative homework projects are completed and in school this week. A huge thank you to parents and children for such a fantastic effort, the quality of the models is exceptional. Elliot decided to make a cake, which we all enjoyed very much!

  • African Artefacts in Year 2

Tue 10 Nov 2020 Mrs Rodriguez
A huge thank you goes out to the Bryan family who very kindly brought in a huge box of genuine African artefacts for us to explore in class. It was so much better than looking at pictures of them online!! They caused a lot of excitement and discussion around how and why they were made. They were very impressed by the detail in the carving of the wooden objects and the intricacy of the beaded jewellery. A great enhancement to our Kenya Vs England topic - thank you!!
  • Year 2 PCSO visit

Tue 10 Nov 2020 Mrs Rodriguez

Today Year 2 had a visit from PCSO Simon Gallagher to discuss how they could keep themselves safe.

So e of the hinges the children learnt today were:

    • To say no if a stranger asked them to go somewhere with them
    • To shout for help
    • To go to the nearest safe place they can
    • Never to share private information or pictures online
    • Not to let strangers join online chats on games

I was really impressed with just how much the children already knew today - little stars!

  • Year 2 African Art Homework

Tue 10 Nov 2020 Mrs Rodriguez

Year 2 took real pride today sharing their African Homeowrk projects with each other. Their task was to research the artist, Michael Bulinya, and to recreate some of his artwork.

It was great to see such a range of creativity and to hear all of the facts that the children have learnt about this African artist. Even better though, was hearing them talk so excitedly about their own work, loving showing it off to friends!

  • Year 4 Forest School

    Sat 07 Nov 2020
Year 4 became tree detectives in forest school. We followed the classification sheet and identified a wide range of our trees: hornbeam, oak, hawthorn, sycamore, birch, maple and ash.
  • Harriers Visit Year 4

    Sat 07 Nov 2020
Last Wednesday, the Harriers visited Year 4. Children played very well and thoroughly enjoyed the action.
  • Year 6 displays

Wed 04 Nov 2020 Mrs McLeod

Have been rather pleased with Year 6's artwork, which you can see here proudly on display in the classroom.

Another new display is of their recent work on evolution. The standard of presentation is very high! Thank you, Miss Armstrong for creating the display.

  • Year 5 - The Moon! Yum!

    Mon 02 Nov 2020 Mrs K Jones

Year 5 certainly love learning when food is involved!

We have looked at how The Moon's appearance changes throughout the month and why this happens.  We know all the names for each phase and can tell you some fun facts too! Why don't you ask us!

Our learning was so enjoyable, even our resident "Guru Master Scientist" Mrs McLeod came to visit and quiz us on what we knew! She was very impressed!

Well done Year 5 - great teamwork too!
