This week Year 4 have been finding out all about electricity. They made batteries using a lemon and also a potato. Fascinating and incredibly fun. Alternative ways to generate electricity are very important, now more than ever.

  • Year 5 DT - COOKING

Fri 21 Oct 2022 Miss Armstrong

It was very exciting in Year 5 yesterday!!

Having researched recipes which contained local, seasonal produce, the children had the opportunity to cook two recipes which they had voted for.  They chose: Vegetarian Noodles and Pumpkin Muffins. They learned how to cut food safely with a knife using the 'claw' and 'bridge' method. The food tasting was also hugely successful and we definitely have some future chefs in the making.  Excellent work Year 5!!

  • Year 5 - Earth and Space

Fri 21 Oct 2022 Miss Armstrong

During our science topic, the children have been investigating the movement of the Earth and have used shadows to prove that the Earth turns relative to the Sun.  The children made some interesting predictions before the investigation began.  We had a fabulous day, popping out to the playground regularly to see and record how the shadows had moved.
