We have been getting to grips with Oxford Reading Buddy. So many exciting books to choose from and a great quiz at the end, which really makes you think. Keep reading!

It was wonderful to be out in the sunshine investigating shadows.  We will use this data in class to demonstrate the movement of the earth relative to the sun 🌞. 

We also saw the moon and understand why it sometimes appears in the day time and it was fun to shout 'waxing gibbous' and 'waning half' at it! 🙂😄

Here are just a few photos of the children in their first few days at school building those all important relationships! Well done on a fantastic start Class of 2021!

Year 4 were set the challenge to create a leaf mosaic picture using the leaves and sticks from the area around them. They produced some amazing images, what an imaginative group of children they are.

Great week Year 4. Green is our class colour, so we have been investigating the many different shades you can make with yellow and green. This is going to be a great year!

We had great fun on the playground looking at the relative sizes and distances of the planets in our solar system, measuring the gaps with squares of loo roll!  The distances are HUGE and in fact the planters we drew are 100 times TOO BIG relative to the distances. Now we need to learn the order of the planets starting from the 🌞 I'll put a video of it on Edmodo.

We have started to learn about the planets in Year 5, starting with the Earth and its moon and the Sun. We learnt how the Earth orbits the Sun and the Moon orbits the Earth.   Here we are outside reanacting these orbits, making sure there's plenty of distance between Sun and Earth as there's lots of SPACE in between!

Year 3 have been busy mixing powder paints to create as many different variations of the colour orange as possible. These will then be used to make sunset Stonhenge art and a huge lion display in the classroom plus much more - photos to follow once complete! 

They have settled back in to school life so confidently and are loving the new classroom. We are all so excited for the year ahead.

We have had a wonderful first day together! What a great class! We even did some super-hard maths problem solving. It's going to be a fabulous year!
